We got a puppy
Переглядів 9 тис.21 день тому
October 21st 2023, It was time we finally got a puppy. After dog sitting my mums dog quite a few times Denis got used to the idea of having a dog around. Gypsy was such a good dog it was hard not to love her. I grew up with dogs, mostly English Staffys but also Great Dane x Wolf Hound, Rotties, and maybe a few others so having animals in my life was something I was used too as a kid. It had bee...
Dam clean out
Переглядів 10 тис.21 день тому
October 2023 We took advantage of having barely any water in our second dam and decided to take out the sediment and top soil. This would give us more capacity and have some nice soil for the gardens.
Months of dry weather
Переглядів 12 тис.Місяць тому
Life is dry with out access to water. Our water tanks were getting empty, our dam was getting empty and so it was time to put our water tanks in place so that we could catch water when it finally does decide to rain.
We got a hoist

Denis finally got the hoist he so deserves, so no more rolling in the dirt to work on cars. We installed the hoist September 2023.

Fishing the Great Barrier Reef
Переглядів 28 тис.8 місяців тому
Somehow the shed build earlier in the year took over my life and I forgot that we even went fishing in March, looks like it was a great day too. Anyway, finally got around to editing a video from the footage. Hope you enjoyed. BTW, we don't keep all the yummy fish we catch because it's only the two of us and I don't want fish sitting in the freezer for too long.
PB Cobia
Переглядів 4,3 тис.9 місяців тому
Hello everyone. I was going through my hard drives and noticed I hadn't made a video from this old footage. This is my personal best Cobia off the Tweed Heads coast back in 2016. Looks like we fished a few days before collecting bonito for bait. We went back out a few days later after some rain, the water condition looked a little murky but that didn't stop the fish from biting. I love using lu...

We stayed at the willows caravan park in 1977 for over a week and we totally enjoyed ourselves and found some great sapphires, particularly parti colors ,silver star, black star, blues, greens and a coupla yellows and i two of them cut there at the willows by the caravan parks owners son who was a great cutter and we also caught yellow belly fish and we didnt use a line and hook we caught them in our sapphire sieves as the water was getting low in the creeks. 😏👍🙂

6 years ago we did the same thing, sort of. We lived on the goldy for 55 years and even back then the traffic was shit and had enough of the rat race so moved to Baffle Creek, just down the road from you. We have 53 acres, 2min from the river and 2km from the surf beach. the best move we've ever made..

Beautiful….we’ve always had a bull breed of some type, great dogs to have, fun loving and loyal. Good to see you’re going to crate train her (at least that’s what I assume), a crate is one of the best dog management tools you can have, excellent for toilet training so you don’t have accidents around the house, they’ll pick it up in under a week most of the time if you do it right.

Ahhh…she’s a good girl! Mark my words, within six months, Dennis won’t be able to leave the house without her 😎😎 Being she’s an “American,” Terrier, it will take her a bit to adjust to the Aussie accent 😂😂😂 In all seriousness, since she’s a Terrier, gotta watch her with the snakes and other dangerous creatures. She’s a natural hunter. Possibly one of the best breeds for your homestead. Make sure at least one of you establishes dominance in the first few months though. Otherwise she will be unruly as an adult. It might seem mean, especially when they’re puppies, but if you establish dominance and discipline as a puppy, within six months you will NEVER have to discipline again. And she will be the best dog you’ve ever known.

Not sure what you did with all the sediment, but that would have been good to add around the plants, or put as a vegi patch. it would be full of nutrients having been washed down from other areas.
